THE LANDING 2019 ROSE
Grown on the coastal slopes overlooking the Bay of Islands, the 2018 Rose is a blend which offers great fruit intensity and vibrancy, is fresh and lively, leading to a light, dry finish of quince and florals.
Our Rosé is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Syrah. Merlot cl 481 and Syrah cl 524 grapes were hand-picked in perfect condition on the 11th of March following a warm, dry summer.
The fruit was whole bunch pressed to minimise colour and phenolic extraction. The juice was settled then racked to stainless tanks for fermentation. Fermentation was cool and slow to retain the delicate and pure fruit characters. The wine was then allowed to settle naturally before filtration and bottling.
This dry and textured Rosé is made from Merlot and Syrah grapes grown in the clay soil of the Purerua Peninsula on the northern coast of the Bay of Islands. Gently whole-bunch pressed and fermented cool to retain freshness, this wine displays ripe fruit and delicate spice flavours with a crisp dry finish
